OVI-Wan Kenobi says:

I think I’m going to unbolt the seat, disconnect the seat power cable, take
the seat out and then disconect the drive cable from the horizontal motor
and then manually rotate the drive cable with an electric drill to make the
worm gear move the seat backwards. Once the seat goes all the way back I’m
keeping it there for good. Can’t stand power seats, its not IF they’re
gonna break, it’s WHEN they’re gonna break. Give me good old
fashion manual seats any day.

tpirocz says:

im not really sure. if you have a multi meter you can check to make sure
the switch works in the back position. thats where i would go next.

OVI-Wan Kenobi says:

My seat switch works in all directions (forward, up, down, & tilt) but not
backwards. I know its not the motor. I also checked the seat track and
there is nothing obstructing it. I tried prying up on the front silver worm
gear as well as on the back side just like you did in this video. Seat
still does not move backwards. Do you know anything else I should try?

tpirocz says:

i would first look at the seat switch

Mario D. Kyriakides says:

Just tried this on my 03 Envoy. Worked like a charm!

OVI-Wan Kenobi says:

My 02 Trailblazer’s driver seat won’t move backwards, only forward. Given
the solution that you have shown, what do you think is causing this
malfunction?
